Networking Group Interest
SHRM-GT Members come from a wide variety of backgrounds and companies. The SHRM-GT Board of Directors realizes that many of our members are an “HR Department of One”. We are interested in providing these members with a special networking group to share their wins, opportunities and struggles with others in their same situation. If you are an “HR Department of One”, please take a few minutes to complete the interest survey.
Mentor Program
Interested in Mentoring a College Student in your workplace?
Since 2017, Earn to Learn has partnered with local organizations and businesses to offer Earn to Learn savers a unique opportunity to be mentored by professionals in the industries they hope to enter after they graduate college. We are thrilled to share that we are expanding this program for 2021-2022, and we are currently accepting applications from Arizona Community and Business Leaders who are interested in mentoring a student for the upcoming academic year.
A few details/FAQs: The application will remain open until August 31st, 2021. Completing the application does not guarantee participation, and mentors will be selected based on experience, student interest, and mentee compatibility. There is a minimum requirement of 1 hour each month, October-April, devoted to actively engaging with the mentee. We will offer a short virtual orientation for new/selected mentors in September. Mentoring pairs are encouraged to meet either in-person (if safe and feasible to do so) or virtually via Zoom or other video conferencing software. Mentees will be responsible for submitting monthly documentation to ensure accountability and consistency.
