About Us

Thank you for your interest in learning more about the Society for Human Resource Management of Greater Tucson (SHRM GT).

Founded in the 1940’s as the Tucson Personnel Club, it was created to meet the professional needs of the personnel administrators in Southern Arizona.  The club expanded in 1971 and became affiliated with the American Society for Personnel Administration.  In 1983, the name was changed to the Tucson Personnel Association and in 1989, it officially became the Society for Human Resource Management of Greater Tucson (SHRM GT) and aligned the local Tucson chapter with SHRM national.

On January 1st, 2024, SHRM GT became a Dual Membership chapter. Providing one-stop shopping for membership (join/renewal).

SHRM GT is an HR resource for employment trends, best practices, and innovative ideas.  The chapter advises the Tucson community on relevant and emerging employment initiatives at the local, state, and national level(s).  SHRM GT is committed to developing HR leaders through mentoring, continuing education, networking, and volunteer opportunities.
