Mentorship Program Committee

SHRM of Great Tucson is now accepting applications for Year 2020-2021 of the Mentorship Program.  This program assists our membership in building their skills, knowledge and relationships.  By participating in this program as a mentor or mentee, you can earn PDC credits for both SHRM and HRCI professional re-certification.

If the Mentorship program sounds interesting- review the following criteria to see which category fits you best:

  • Do you have an idea of where you want to be in your career, but not sure of what the next step should be?
  • What are your thoughts on having someone to guide you in your professional development and goal achievement?
  • Would you value having someone coach you through complex HR situations?
  • Would you value having someone with more or different experience to provide encouragement and support in pursuit of your goals?

If YES, then maybe you would like to apply to be a mentee!

  • Are you at a place in your career where you would like to give back to others in the field?
  • Do you enjoy encouraging people to look at situations in a different way?
  • Are you confident in your abilities to transfer your knowledge and assist with developing new skills in others?
  • Can you provide contacts for those looking to expand their network?
  • Are you skilled in assisting others to discover their talents?
  • Are you confident in developing a trusting, confidential and mutually beneficial relationship with someone who wants professional growth?

If YES, then maybe you would like to apply to be a mentor!

Let’s see if you meet the requirements:

  • A current SHRM-GT member;
  • Willing to meet every month for 45 minutes to 1 hour with your partner for a year;
  • Available to attend an orientation remotely as well as participate and give feedback on the program throughout the year

You can also expect to spend approximately 2-3 hours per month reading, preparing or working on homework, or attending additional meetings for mentor/mentee pairs.

If you are interested and meet the requirements, please complete the application on the SHRM- GT website and return the application to [email protected] by Monday, August 31, 2020.
