During these challenging times of the pandemic and civil unrest, human resource professionals are faced with managing their own emotions and feelings, while ensuring that their employees’ health and wellbeing are cared for and resources are available. Often HR professionals are so busy taking care of the needs of others that they forget to stop and consider how they are doing.

In this session, panel members will share:

  • How to Recognize both sides of our feelings and using the both/and approach to move forward
  • How to cope with the challenges our feelings create
  • Real life scenarios
  • What warning signs to look out for
  • When to seek help for ourselves and others
  • 12 Steps to Mindfulness
  • Best Practices in the workplace for promoting resiliency and wellbeing

The following questions will be explored:

  • How can we foster a sense of resilience during this season?
  • What are the signs that you may be burned out and how can you cope with this?
  • How can we set both professional and personal boundaries during this time?
  • How can we support the mental health of our fellow community members as HR professionals?
  • How can I access help during this time?
  • What are employers doing to help their employees traverse the new terrains of working from home and social distancing at the work site?
  • What programs and strategies have been useful for employers and employees?

Learning Ojectives:

  • Participants will gain a better understanding of their response to this challenging season and how to shift their feelings toward a healthier place.
