Breakout Session I: Managing remote employees ( Snell & Wilmer)

The modern workplace is increasingly reliant on forms of communication and productivity that allow many employees to perform the jobs from anywhere in the world. As a result, remote work arrangements have become commonplace. Although these arrangements can have benefits for workers and employers, they also present a host of challenges.

Breakout Session II: New Rules for Classifying Independent Contractors - Are you ready? (DeConcini McDonald Yetwin & Lacy)

The Department of Labor recently issued extensive guidance on when a worker can be properly classified as an independence contractor. In addition, the Arizona State Legislaturehasenacted a statute intended to help clarify when a worker is an independent contractor. During this breakout session we will review the federal guidance and the new state law and how to apply them to your workforce.

Breakout Session III: Addressing and Preventing Workplace Violence (Lewis Roca Rothgerber Christie)

Workplace violence remains a serious concern for employers nationwide. Many recent terrorist attacks and mass murders have occurred in workplaces throughout the United States. This presentation will provide a comprehensive discussion about workplace violence issues.
