HR Professional Development and Certification Preparation

HR Professional Development and Certification Preparation

The Professional Development Committee is committed to offering enriching opportunities for human resources professionals to expand their HR Body of Knowledge, further develop one’s HR Competencies, and provide a chance for seasoned professionals to give back and keep up-to-date. Professional Development includes two areas: Certification Preparation Study Group and Mentorship Program. Study Groups are offered twice a year using the SHRM Learning Materials and led by subject matter experts in preparation for certification exams.  Obtaining your SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP can be challenging, but the structured content and supportive group setting has proven to provide a high pass rate on the exam.  The Mentorship Program provides members with professional guidance, growth and support by pairing seasoned professionals with members wanting to develop professionally with the support and guidance of a Mentor.  The Mentor and Mentees commit to one meeting a month for a one- year time period and establish goals based on the interests of the Mentee.
