SHRM-GT is a success because of our amazing members and WE THANK YOU!
As a member of SHRM-GT you have the ideal opportunity to give back to other members and our community by volunteering on one (or more) of our committees. The expansive offerings our committees provide include a wide variety of opportunities to meet almost anyone’s interests and/or passions. Not only can you feel good about giving back as a volunteer, but the time commitment can be very minimal – we want you to volunteer in any capacity you can, whether it’s for a month, 6 months, or even on a project-to-project basis!
Each committee and committee member has a direct impact on the success of the SHRM-GT chapter. Please consider volunteering for a committee as a valued member of our chapter!

Community Outreach Committee
The Community Outreach Committee’s goal is to improve SHRM-GT’s overall prestige and visibility, and to become a resource and authority on HR matters within Southern Arizona. We manage the Chapter’s community outreach efforts by acting as the liaison to community groups, connecting HR professionals with SHRM-GT, and current members with external business organizations and vice versa. Further, we provide PR and local publication support to the chapter.

Professional Development Committee
The Professional Development Committee is committed to offering enriching opportunities for human resources professionals to expand their HR Body of Knowledge, further develop their HR Competencies, and provide a chance for seasoned professionals to give back and keep up-to-date with the latest materials. Study Groups are offered twice a year using the SHRM Learning Materials and led by subject matter experts in preparation for certification exams. Obtaining your SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP can be challenging, but the structured content and supportive group setting has proven to provide a high pass rate on the exam.

The Workforce Readiness committee’s goal is to enhance career education and the employability of our future workforce. By partnering with area high schools and colleges, the committee seeks to deliver and facilitate training sessions on career skills, such as resume writing, interviewing, soft skills, personal branding etc.
